would any of you even consider a 2.0 in a vintage hot rod? ( street use only- weekend fun car ).
in the polls about 'best sound' the 2.0 wins out most times over the 2.7 and later engines.
what is it about the 2.0 sound that makes it special? what are the disadvantages of the 2.0 beyond less horses? is it higher revving?
would anyone choose the 2.0 for it's sound alone over the 2.7?

Ive had (4) hondas, (7) porsches, (4) water cooled VWs...
Hondas are the funnest cars to drive daily. The japs "get it" for a street car. In Osaka you can't get out of 3rd gear, so they design the cars to be QUICK but not really FAST... A Type R Integra only goes about 140mph, but it will get there in a hurry...
Anyway just wanted to say that. The driveability, torque (yes, D16s have torque) and throttle response is amazing on the little motors, AND you can't kill em

Thats my old 88 AWD Wagon..6 speed, 1.6L D16 motor, it was fun and pretty quick cuz it didn't spin the tires, just squat and go...
Im more of a track guy myself than a drag racer, but Hondas shouldn't be taken lightly. IMHO.
I have a pal named Jamie with a 95 Integra that is daily driven and makes 365HP at the wheels, for the last 3 years with a home made turbo kit and little maintenance... Its a B20 w/a B16 head on it (CR-Vtec they call it)
I respect all hotrods, and I "know my enemy" and I won't slight a properly built/driven H-car.

Those motors do sound fantastic. I'm sorry I used to have a link to a website that had Porsche motor sounds. The 2.0 sounded glorious.

Doesn't the sound have a lot to do with the fan? Or does it's displacement have a lot to do woth it? I had a 2.0, 2.2, and 2.4. All T's and I choose the 2.4 with MFI. The response of the MFI was noteworthy. The sounds were similar. They all used the same exhaust system in my car.
