I am wanting to upgrade the performance of my 82 911SC, but keep it street legal and not "break the bank." Where should I start nad how much more HP can I expect?

On an SC the biggest bang you can get is by replacing the stock exhaust for an old style. Personally I went with SSI with no heater boxes to a B&B 2 in 1 out muffler.
K&N is said to help too. After this you can play with timing (gains???) or go the expensive way into cams, carbs or, as I ended up doing, drop in a 3.2.
SC's are a lot of fun and they seem to go on forever.

You should look into getting Bruce Anderson book on performance upgrades. Pretty informative. Also whatever you do remember you may need your old parts to pass smog when that time comes around. A freind of mine made the mistake of getting rid of his old stuff when he replaced it. It may not be a concern where you live, but in CA it can be a pain. Thats why I like my '71, smog except

In addition to looking at Bruce Anderson's book, you can check the 911SC FAQ on this site, or also on tech.rennlist.com, which addresses your question.

Juan, Thanks for the pics. I just like seeing the early 911s get a little pub now and then. Very nice color on the Concours. I am sure she rates pretty high.
