Default I"m new

Hey i've always been a big porsche fanatic since my dad bought his abotu 4 years ago.

1986 porsche 911 carrera cabriolet 26-27k miles now.
i'm 17 and from colorado just outside denver.

just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself.

and i also had a question

my dad is selling his porsche. would it be against the rules to post a link to the autotrader listing? i read int he rules that you can't advertise for companies but wasn't sure if this meant you couldn't post personal classifieds.

if it's alright with you all i'll post the link later otherwise i'm sure you can find it on autotrader with the details i gave.

but other than that, hello and good to be part of the forum

EDIT: 1984 NOT 1986 SORRY

alright well if it's not against the rules then i guess i'll go ahead and post a link

and do you mean to expect criticism? because i don't predict much criticism for this car, it's literally perfect condition.

If he was any kind of father and a Porsche enthusiast he would give you the car....besides that, it looks like he owns a car dealership.

Yeah i wish he would give it to me but insurance for a collector car on a 17 year old is brutal plus we need to sell it and get a snow car, we've never tried it but i highly doubt a rear drive and engine car would work too well in any snow...

and i g uess i should have mentioned this. my dad DOES NOT own ertle brothers used auto nor is it being sold through that dealership. My uncle (Ron Ertle) owns that dealership and they have a deal w here they pay a fee every month and get unlimited auto trader listings so we had them put it up there for free.

also, THIS CAR IS NOT LOCATED WHERE THE LISTING SAYS IT IS, the listing says it is 120 miles from denver in sterling colorado. This is simply where the dealership is located, the car is actually in our garage right now about 15 minutes from downtown denver.

sorry i forgot to specify all that....

Welcome Kaiser! Hope you enjoy cruising through these boards, but you also may want to consider being a member. Even though you're 17, that doesn't preclude you from researching/learning about, and ultimately buying your own Porsche. Not to mention you could list that car on Rennlist's Classifieds as a member. It really is the best $17 you could spend. I'm not "pitching" you, mind you. I'm just an avid supporter of this board myself and wish that others who find value in this board help support it. And it's also considered "good form" to support those who support your needs ...in your case, the link to your ad placed on the pages of this forum. Good luck on the sale fo your father's car.

Great looking car, I would be interested, and will be in Denver next week, but your price is high for a Non G-50 car. There is currently the same miles car in Michigan for just a few more k.

Actually, it is not permitted for someone who is not a paying member to post either a For Sale listing or a link to their external sale (like an Autotrader or eBay).

See here - #12.

The Email lists are from a list server and are pretty old.

The web based forum is what you are looking at.

John must have a join page somewhere if you browse around.

i guarantee the sheepskin seat covers are covering nothing but perfect leather. When taken, these pictures were not intended to be the ones to sell the car with, my dad and i had jsut finished cleaning the car and wanted to take pictures. We then had my cousin 120 miles away put the car on autotrader and jsut sent him the pictures we had.

if anyone is truly interested in this car i will gladly take the covers off(they are fairly complicated and it takes a while which is why i didn't just do it automatically) and then take pictures and send them to you.

once again, if anyone is REALLY considering buying this car, i will take and send to you any pictures i can, just let me know.
