Default need to replace alternator

Is it DIY? Should I go with one of the high output alternators from pelican?

Thanks.

I took it out, took an hour. Hand it to the shop with $100 dollars bill. Take it back, paint it silver for the clean look. Now it's running. While waiting, I installed a voltage meter for the peace of mind. New battery too.

definitely a DIY if you have patience. it is not difficult, just a little frustrating at times.

It's very DIY...the only pain is the freaking small 8mm nuts on the alterantor wiring cover

Did mine last summer, took the time to spray the fan, housing, etc.

Little hands & patience a plus. Take photos coming out so you remember where things go back in.

I think I paid ~$330 (?) at the dealer for the alt. I kept the old one to have rebuilt for the next time around. Replaced the battery at the same time.

I concor on those tiny nuts , some require 3 put in , othewrs require all 6 ( mine ) the pain part comes in when you drop the last one fastening back up and it falls insdie grr..... just don't fasten these too tight as you can crack the shroud, and I second the photo of wiring ... hey wait a minute ... this might give you an idea..
