still using the original Solex carbs on my 65 911. My mechanic has finally said I need to replace them or rebuild them, so I'm looking for butterfly shaft bushings and 6 throat linkages. Really hate to take them off.

Try cheking some VW beetle suppliers like CB Performance or stuff like that since they sell Solex parts. Even though they are not the same models but they could probably help out.

Jim: You're my hero - I love the early Solex's! Try Matt at: http://www.eurometrix.ws/ - although he is not the original Eurometrix, I'm sure that he's good.

I had to rebuild a single Amal carb on a '53 Triumph once. I'm certain that there are more hens' teeth in the world today than parts for those puppies.
I ended up making the parts myself, but since it was such a simple design, it wasn't terribly difficult.
I had to make my own brushes for the magneto too, but that was a snap by comparison.
Good luck, BTW... there is a palce near me that specializes in VW parts... I think they're called JBugs.
I could get their contact info for you if you like.
