Towing with the front wheels on the ground
This is something I wanted to ask for a long time, true, I can call any Porsche shop and ask but I wanted to see what the collective wisdom of the list says. Is it acceptable to tow a 911 SC with the rear wheels on a dolly and the front wheels on the ground? I have seen rear drive cars towed this way on the highway. The big advantage for me would be that I could tow it using my Jeep instead of calling the tow truck. If that's OK is there a distance limit like 10, or 20 or 30 miles and would it better to have the wheels locked (ignition key out) or in the first posititon so that they can turn? Bentley says it is acceptable to tow the car with all wheels on the ground for no more than 20 miles (32 Kms) but is mum on towing with the front wheels on the road and the rear on a dolly.
