How did you guys finally wear down your wife to get the 911?

Well this week I have softened her up a bit. She is now just saying "no" instead of "hell no."
She says I have to buy her something equally ridicalous before she will give in? Any ideas?
She mentioned another 65 Mustang like one she used to have. Jeesh where am I going to fit all of these rust buckets? My three car garage is already full.

a) get rid of all the crap in the garage,
b) get her a nice, restored '65 Mustang (200ci coupe w/ auto) from some guy who is getting squeezed on real estate &/or commodity investments gone sour,
c) buy a decent 911 at leisure.

My wife and I both drive 944s but she knew that I've loved the 911 since I was 13. Due to a bunch of reasons, I've been looking at them for the past several weeks.
This past Saturday morning we woke up with no plans. But without me knowing it, she had purchased airline tickets to check one out that I thought looked good for the price. By early afternoon we were on the plane and that night we were driving it home. She's pretty cool (both my wife and the 911).

Amen, (it was supposed to be a surprise but...) When I get back from Iraq, my wife set up a 1-day rental of a 997 C4S. She knows its all over after the first 30 seconds of that drive!! Let the shopping begin...

If you make the money, then its yours and not really her choice, I have an agreement with mine, I dont guestion her purchases, nor she does mine. If I want it and I can afford it, I buy it.

My 964 was the 3rd porsche in the stable (And I got to keep both Interntional Scouts too). My wife belives I'm much better off tinkering with cars than off down the bar or with a mistress !

I was in seattle for a week and called her from the home airport airport - omaha - saying I'd bought a 911. She was worked about the shipping assuming it was coming from Seatle. When I said it was only a few blocks from out house that took the wind out her sails....

Hah haa... My fiancee and I have this talk all the time. At first I said I wanted a clean 951 to play with. She siad they were ugly and I should get a 911 instead. Not that I can afford it, but it's a start.
