Default What to replace on a 76S 2.7 motor W/ 30K on it??

I recently bought a 76 911S that was an abandoned project. The car only had 30k on the motor and tranny. I have since transplanted the motor in to a 77 911 updated to a C2. The engine had sat for a long time. I have upgraded the fan to an 11 blade but it still has its thermol reactors. Should I replace these? this car will need to be smogged so keep in mind. Any help>>
Thank you
Nathan

I now have realized that the plunger (cylinder) in the fuel distributor is stuck up inside due to the motor sitting for so long. Im spraying tons of wd40 in to it but its not moving. Now What???

Take the fuel distributor out and disassemble it. you can then lube it up. there is a very thin metal membrane between the two halfs, if not used for a long while these tend to develope rust holes. Pull it apart to see that it's not rust sticking the plunger.

PS. did you get my message about the muffler?

Hey Frank,

I did get it. I had the muffler modded. I will see if it will work.
As far as the fuel distributor goes I took it apart and cleaned everything. I noticed that one port was tarnished as if no gas ran through it in a very long time. so I cleaned it all. Hopefully now it works. I am wondring though, If you were to remove the 12mm bolts from the top and remove those lines, is there a little green plastic thing in each of the cylinders. I am missing one out of one of the ports. Please any info.
Thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
Sorry but it was more than 20 years ago when I pulled mine apart so I can't remember about the green things. I was told once that the fuel distributor for a six cylinder Volvo around that time was the same unit. Same part number on them both. Volve may have cheaper parts for them.

Good luck,

Frank

The green things are little filters in each port. I took it apart, cleaned aLL the parts, and put it back together. Works perfectly. I guess I got lucky.
