These have been like this since I've owned the car...not sure what they are for?

I don't have that slot but a wider shot may help .. not even sure what part of the car we are looking at ..

Left rear corner in the engine bay...they almost look like speaker wires?

Maybe the cruise control unit has ben removed ? looks like screw hols to me.

The engine is out of the car...and you have to disconnect the crusie control to perform the drop, that's what the round casing is above. These two little wires are a crowd stumper...no one seems to know

I have never seen that on my car. If you tooka wider angle shot I could check.

slot: Do you have an engine lid light on your car? If not, turn on your parking lights and see if that red wire goes hot...
