Default Replacing engine oil cooler seals?

I have a 3.2L...and I'm thinking of replacing my engine oil cooler seals. I can't seem to find much via the search. I've heard these can be a pesky leak, and since I'm already in there replacing other seals and my clutch...why not? Do you have to take the heat exchanger off? I' have my engine sitting on an ATV jack (with exchangers on). Is it better to do this once the engine is back in the car? Any other ideas...? Can this be done from up top...while the engine is out?

Cooler seal leaks (on the engine) are so rare that I've only done the job a few times. That said, if you want to do yours do it now! Take the cover off that sits above the cooler, I think that it's light gray on your car. The cooler is held on by four 13mm wrench size nuts (8 mm studs), each with a wavy lock washer. Remove the nuts and pull the cooler straight back...

Much easier to do out of the car... You have to remove the engine tin too (in addition to the grey fiberglass shroud.

Jeremy: Almost too pretty to put back in! Thanks for mentioning the tin - I knew that I was forgetting something!

Is there anything that can be done to keep raw aluminum looking that good that won't negatively impact it, i.e. heat dissipation or something?
That engine looks awesome.
