Default Where to get early sunroof sliders??

the 1971 T im working on needed the cables replaced. When the owner called up a company to replace them, they suggested sliders as well. I would have to agree. The sliders we received were 964 part# sliders and though they would "work" they dont fit in there correctly. Where can we get new polished aluminum proper length sliders or do we have to cut down the 964 ones to work?

I have a set of sliders that came out of my 84. Not sure if they are the same as what you need since the 964 version fit right in. BTW, I'm pretty certain they are black.
PM me if you are interested.

Hi Dan,
I have a 76S that needed new cables and sliders. I got a complete set from a 993 that was being turned into a race car. And yes, I had to cut the fronts off to make them fit. About 1 1/2 inches I think.
Paint stripper should get rid of the black but I haven't tried that yet.
Good luck,

Frank

i talked to the owner and he wants me to cut the ends off-they are staying black though. THey fit right in but are too long to fit w/ the stock trim. When cut down they should work fine, but i wasnt about to cut them if they were the wrong parts. thanks.

All
On the same subject but a little off in a way. I have a 81 SC and need the wind deflector that pops
up when the sun roof is open. Anyone have one or know where I could get one. Thanks

IIRC they are NLA from the dealer. Performance products had a good amount of sunroof parts when I was looking, perhaps they have them as well. Otherwise, you'll need to find a used one.

I bought a complete Used set of Carrera sunroof parts including the single piece air deflector. My stock tub had a 1/2" dia tit that sticked up in the foreward area inside the original slider had to be cut off. Another mod was for the white plastic deflector up/down piece that Carreras have under the roof had to be done.
