3.2 Carrera Lowered >>>Too low or Okay ?

Hi:
The rear looks OK if you have using Bilstein Sport rear shocks (shorter than HD's). The front is too low unless you have the raised-spindle RSR struts.
Be sure the car is cornerweighted and aligned when you are done.

Anything lower than Euro height is too low in my opinion for the street....If the car is a dedicated track car or sees a lot of track time that is a different story....but along with track time goes a totally different suspension setup

A little too low. Under acceleration the rear would squat and be slightly lower than the front (with the stock torsion bars).

That looks a little too low for the stock spindle heights IMO. I have the raised spindle RSR's on my '87 Carrera, and mine isn't even that low. Though, I am going to lower mine a little more. Hey, at least your car looks good and doesn't have too much wheel gap. Seriously though, have you reindexed your torsion bars to lower it this much, or has the suspension been untouched? I'd check and see what kind of condition your shocks are in. If you're saying it feels mushy, and judging by how low the car is, your shocks could be blown and sagging. The front looks low enough that you could be riding the bumpstops and limiting suspension travel.

Hi Rich,
It looks great, but if you are using stock T-bars and shocks, it's a bit too low. With stock pieces, you are pretty soft, and as you've compromised suspension travel a great deal, I think you're hampering the suspension more than gaining. I'd consider raising it another .5"-.7" on both ends with stock t-bars/shocks for a street car (you've got the front at about .5" higher than the rear, that's correct rule of thumb).
If you get down on the floor and look toward the front suspension arms (car level, of course), they should be either parallel to the ground, or the inner pivot points higher than the outers. I'll bet that your inner pivot points are lower than your outer points. This is not good geometry, especially for a softly-sprung car with stock shocks (which are longer than the Bilstein Sports --which are both shorter and stiffer, for example). You may never notice any problems driving normally, but I've always been told by those "in the know" (guys that set these things up for a living, not hacks like me ) that too low a 911 w/o the appropriate pieces and you are asking for less than predictable handling at the limit ...and "limit" is not just at the track, but in a street emregency avoidance manuver.
Oh, and again, your car does look fabulous!! I have always loved that color since I first saw it in the 80s. Enjoy!!
