Post Replacing door skin on 911

Does anyone have a feel for how difficult it is to replace an outer door skin on a 911? Not the repaint, but the actual job of removing the old one and attaching the new. Any specialized tools?

Horrible job - even specialist bodyshops try to avoid it. Much easier to try for a second hand door. Only advantage is that you may get better gaps with a skin but even that is doubtful.

Had to make this choice last year and really glad I went for the 2nd hand door - my body man reskinned my old door for his '73 Carrera but it took him HOURS of fun but then it was his time.

i've heard from my bodyshop friends that you're lucky if the door handle holes are in the right place. go for the used door. get a galvanized one to lessen the chance of rust bubbles appearing later along the bottom.
