Default help- rub in the steering?

ok, a few months and 2k into 911 ownership:

i just had my tie rods done...turbo upgrade. now all of a sudden i'm feeling a rub in the steering when i turn far to the left, with some barely audible sounds as well. my mechanic is telling me this is normal...(?). didn't hear/feel it before the tie rod change....haven't crawled under for an amateur look yet.

this same shop also scratched my wheels while changing out my tires, and their attempt to fix it was far from great. am i getting screwed here?
