Default Leak down question

I just purchased an 87 in excellent condition. The engine has 110,000k with 5,000 on a top end rebuild. I reviewed the reciepts and reseached the shop that did the work and found them to have very strong reputation for quality work. I viewed the car on the rack and it was completely dry. It has not leaked a drop in my garage. It runs and sounds strong. Should I still go ahead and have a leak down test done? This is my first Porsche, so any insights are appreciated.

given you've already bought it, and all signs are positive (what about oil consumption rate?), why bother now? enjoy!

I agree. If peace of mind is your goal wait until the next service is due and have your shop run one then. Like "ked" said, Enjoy!

rscredon: sorry about that--I didn't mean to be the "do a search!" kind of guy. but I had no idea what a leak down was and assumed you wanted to learn about it. Good luck and enjoy the ride. Jack
