Default first "post-PI"

introduced my new car and my new mechanic to each other today, the initial check up was prompted by the need for tires and a low oil-level gauge (it really was just a quart low, whew).

they echoed my front-end PPI that the car was very solid, guess i've really lucked out by taking my time with the purchase......knock wood here. along with the tires, alignment, corner balance (looking like around $850-$950) i was advised to replace my original worn-out tie rods with the upgraded turbo ones, rear cv's are going to need attention soon, a couple of little things like a brake flush and battery, and basically charging the a/c back up. skipping the a/c for now i'm going to be out for somewhere around $1,800 i think.......

he says "hey throw out the tires and you're not so bad off"......and i'm inclined to agree. whew again...

Sounds good ..
But a few points I learned and thought was worth passing on .
1. Don't use or trust the oil level guage . learn how to check it with the dipstick and check it this way
2. Of course do your turbo tie rods before the alignment and insist on lemfoerder parts. ( I just did this and it was a great improvement.
