Default Los Angeles PPI, Peter Zimmermann

I just read the Peter Zimmermann article above. It would be wonderful to find a mechanic who would put this kind of care and thought into a ppi. With this though in mind, can anyone recommend a ppi shop in LA?

TRE Motorsports in North Hollywood is superb. Dave not only knows his stuff (and then some), but he's also a standup guy and will definitely give you what you need to know.

Good to know. I was meaning to ask the same question after reading Zimmerman's article. How about a good one south of LA, in Orange County?

Hi andfar,

Hergesheimer Motorsports in Lake Forest (around Irvine). A superb shop! Mark and Laura will treat you well, and Mark definitely knows his stuff! Good folks, really!

I cannot speak as to the experience and ability of these 2 aforementioned shops, but I can tell you that I have always used Dutch Treat Porsche in Lawndale (on Inglewood Blvd, just North of the 405) since first buying my 74 nearly 8 years ago.
Rob is the son of the original owner and he is quite possibly the most honest auto mechanic that I have ever met. He's been factory trained on several models and is a very nice guy to boot.
He remembers his customers by name, and truly cares about them and their cars.
I would send my Grandmother to him if she had a Porsche instead of taking it there myself.

Looking for a more recent rec for PPIs in the Denver area. Please comment or PM me your recommendation. Thanks!

You may want to start a whole new thread, friend ...the title here says "LA" which, you gotta admit, is a bit of a commute if if you don't mind driving some..
