I know, when the kit was available the changeover was so easy. Now it's a headache. The tool pictured above was bought, at least 20 years ago, from either Assenmacher in Colorado, or Baum Tool. I'm sure that someone still sells it because it can be used on other make cars as well.

Thanks. I looked it up. It's a flaring tool. Pretty common part for brake and fuel systems I guess.

 

Actually, it is not. It is a tool to push the very stiff nylon tubing onto a barb fitting.

 

Harry: That's correct, the tool that I have closes tight against the outside of the fuel line, which enables it to be pushed onto the barbed fitting - with no damage/marks on either part.
