Fan Belt and A/C Belt Autozone Part Numbers ??
Just disvovered that my fwd fan belt has blown. Do I really need the extra Spanner tools to change it? First timer on this job. Looks pretty straight forward. Looks like I need to remove a/c belt first. Belts available at most stores... Autozone?
Thanks,
Ron

Make sure you remember where the shims were originally, although the new belt may be slightly different in circumference and thus change the position of the shims in order to get the tension correct.

Okay, I wanted to stop on the way home and get the new belts. Want to do the job tonight. Anyone know the autozone part numbers? They are close by my house.
Thanks for the previous help too,
Ron

Ron: I STRONGLY recommend that you use only an alternator belt from the Porsche dealer. They're made by Goodyear and are a superior product. I've seen many occasions when a vacation, a Sunday outing, even the morning commute, was screwed up by an aftermarket belt!

The belt width for the Porsche belts is 9.5mm. The "generic" size belt available at autozone, etc are 10mm wide. That may be the reason why I find it hard or impossible to use them.
Get 2 belts and put one in your trunk tool roll.

Guys, I got Goodyear belts at the local autoparts store. Just make sure you ask for the high quality belt. Many of these stores sell more than one quality. The store here in FL. was Bennett's.
