After 10 months of not owning a porsche I am getting another SC. Tax refunds are great. I love my 1995 Lotus Esprit, but You can't wrench on it and there are no upgrades to play with. It will be good to troll the old Rennlist again in search of little things of interest.

welcome back, I wouldn't trade my SC for anything. There are a lot of different cars out there that I would love to own, I drove alot before buying my SC and I don't regret it for a minute. I like Lotus cars, and I think having both would be great, is that considered a compromise?

I also will never get rid of my sc. I have had it since 92 and it has over 210,000 miles on the odometer. The motor is still running like a top. It sees the track every other weekend. It's been with me long enough to feel like an old friend. The tough thing about Esprits is that it is much harder to work on due to the space constraint. I prefer the 4 cylinder Esprits. I have always loved Esprits. Especially considering they are not just timeless, but are the only good looking cars still in production. The Esprit is not the kind of car that requires having it's looks grow on you. It looks good the first time, every time, for all time. You can't say that about any car in production today. I also like the idea of a galvanized backbone chassis. You can probably park an Esprit on the beach for a decade without any problems. The best would be to have both the Esprit and the 911.

tjsnowrider8, SC was the moniker Porsche used for the production 911's from '78 thru '83. The term SC was also used on some 356 models, and I've heard of 911 SC/RS's
. Many believe SC stood for Super Carrera.
