Hi Ice and Ian,

That 'soundproofing' is a special Australian 'Organic' car cover. It protects the paint with a unique “natural” substance that’s carefully applied over a period of several months. As well as being organic it is also supplied free. Unfortunately, sometimes, roosting birds also contribute to the coating. I’ll have to look in to that one.

This is what happens when you have to sell up and move to a house that has no shed, your pride and joy is unfinished and you have to leave it in a friend’s shed that is 250 kilometres from where you now live and work. Maybe I’ll finish her soon. It doesn’t hurt to dream.

Rennlisters help keep the dream alive! Thanks Guys!!!!!

Maybe if a thousand rennlisters chip in a penny each we could spring for a car cover for you ! .. hope you get her together soon ... PS being organic if times get really tough at least you can eat it .. :-)

The car is a real m491 car. I am going to receive the build sheet anyday so that will be fun. I drove the car to get a smog and run around during the first sunny weekend day in a while. This was my first day driving the car and it is awesome. after the car sat for ten minutes at the smog shop it would not refire. no spark. opened the hood and let it cool for ten minutes and it refired and got a smog. I drove it back the shop and let it sit and sure enough it would refire. A friend (who really knows these cars) and I swapped some parts at his shop, ignition rotor, coil and dme relay no luck. We ohmed out reference and speed sensors. The reference sensor is bad. New one did the trick. Now we are playing with various exhaust configurations to get a little more throaty sound. Anyone have any suggestions for a good sounding exhaust. Not really looking for more power and I want to leave original headers.
