Default 3.3 turbo engine swap (good or bad)

3.3 turbo engine swap Currently tracking a 1983 3.3 turbo engine with about 50k miles on it on e-bay. Complete apart from turbo/ intercooler that has been checked out by independent Porsche specialist and has good compression numbers. Is this a good upgrade for my stock 77 Carrera 3.0 and will it mate to my 915 transmission or do I have to stump up for the 4 speed box he is also selling. It is currently at £2k starting bid with no interest yet. Is this a pain to switch and will I be getting into much more expense.

There is also a 39k Carrera 2 engine and gearbox complete starting at £3k but I spoke to the seller and he said all numbers had been removed from the engine which sounded a bit suspect.

Cheers

Damien
