What would the following car be worth?
1984 911 cab, needs roof, been sitting about 8 years, 85K miles. Manual tranny.
Don't know if it runs but assume it does. Assume no crash damage. Assume nothing else. I have an email in to the seller asking for more detail.
He's asking 14.5. I'm thinking, for a car that's been sitting and neglected for years, no more than 10K even if it runs and doesn't blow smoke. What say you all?
thanks

an '84 Cab could be very nice... 3.2 motor & manual top. so far, you don't know enough to establish a price range, "book value" is just a point of departure. a detailed review of its history (always garaged? why was it parked?, etc...) obviously a close inspection of the body & mechanicals is called for. among the worst things for a 911 is to sit unused for years (rust & a bad motor are right up there, too...). at 85K it could be a gem or a mess. all fluids, rubber, belts & hoses, gaskets, weatherstripping & leather are in question. good luck!

I believe you're in the $800 range for parts, from memory. I had my rear window zipper re-sewn last fall, cost me $400, and they told me they had to remove the top to get it sewn (the stitching on the zipper had separated).
