The Family Car / Monday-Friday Transportation*…

My / Your, Porsche 911/964/993,. Invariably gets all of the attention here at, "Rennlist.com". It’s about time I pay tribute to another member of the loyal Four-Wheeled Armada, that serves my daily needs on a regular basis. Contrary to some, she asks for nothing more in return than the odd visit to the gas-station, the odd wash-down and every 24,000 kilometres, the odd oil change /oil-filter...

The Family Car / Monday-Friday Transportation* gets no respect!!..

So, to pay tribute to this Silent Majority. Please allow me to introduce the younger sister of "Alpina"...

"Cubina",... curriculum vitae...

2004, Mercedes-Benz Class, C Station Wagon. (Manual 6 speed)
4 cyl. 220 common rail Diesel/ 150 bhp, 315 torque (lbft), (6L/100km!)
Acceleration 0-100 kl/h., (0-60mph)...10 seconds
Top speed... 230 kl/h., (140mph)
AMG Equipped... M.B. Engine...
A fantastic Sport Station Wagon...

I pay tribute to "Cubina", as she never says, (like some of the other Friends that I have)...
"No not today, things don’t seem right, I'm under the weather, besides it's wet outside"...

Let’s see your, Family Car / Monday-Friday Transportation*.....
Pay tribute to this Silent Majority... They deserve their recognition!!..

*) "Please", show the Porsche Daily Runner Family Cars.
Respect and admiration is worthy of their appearance here also...
Perhaps, even more so... "This is a Porsche 911/964/993 Forum"...

From here,
Marc...

PS.. Participation, is what makes a Forum tick-over...

After all... We’re all one Big Happy Family in the end... Thanks

PSS......... "Driving by on Rennlist.com Avenue, I thought I'd call in on 911th Street, before returning back to the garage at 964th Street... Rumor has it that, there's some cool Guys / Gals here, or so I was told earlier at 993rd Street... Nice to meet you, my name is "Alpina"...
I'm from Zuffenhausen, the Class of 1991"...

Default Artie, Nice W124 500E.

I want one (eventually).

For now, it's a 1997 W140 S600 for daily duties. It seems to like this resting position a lot.

Well, I've been driving the 911 as much as possible, so the duties are really split at this point. Here's the "other" car, and the world I came from:

1991 Ford Taurus SHO, 3.0L 24V DOHC Yamaha-built V6
220 Hp / 200lb-ft, 5-speed transaxle, dual exhaust, 7300 rpm limiter, and a flat tq curve from 3,000 to 6,000

This one's mostly stock, my old supercharged track SHO was putting out about 505 crank hp, had coilovers, Wilwood 4-pot brakes, a Quaife differential, the works.

This was as-purchased last fall. I've already upgraded the brakes, done the valve adjustment & tune, cleaned up the engine bay and a few other minor things.

Default Daily driver...

One sweet little 2002 325 Ci. 68K miles, all original and runnin' perfect. Unfortunately, due to the recent addition to our family the car will be sold soon and replaced with a Ford F 150.

Mine: 2002 Audi allroad; 2.7t; 6-speed; 92,000 miles; as nice today as when new, minus the road salt; perfect winter driver/baby hauler.

Hers: 2003 Mini Cooper; 5-speed; sport package; 32,000 miles; excellent city commuter.

I'm still using my 1990 300SEL as a daily driver. Hope to get another 10 years or so out of her before I get another car. Family transporter is the ML320. I dont like baby seats, food, drink etc in mine so the M-class is used for all the family running around.

My wife and I both drive Mercedes-Benz 300TDs (Wagons) as our daily drivers. Though there have been times I went grocery shopping in the 911.

Well guys & gals, it has happened. I can't shoehorn the baby's car seat into the back of the above BMW (my previous post on this thread), so the car is officially for sale. Please check Rennlist Classifieds for the details. Thanks!

My Daily is a BMW M3 coupe, but the SMG is starting to drive me nuts, and after having performance cars [i.e Porsches] as dailys the last few years, the M3 just doesn't do enough things well enough to make much sense to me [I have been spoiled with cars no doubt]. I am thinking about selling the M3 and getting a 530i Manual or an A4 Avant/Volvo S40 wagon instead to perform daily duties...

I want something with more trunk room, a 3 pedal manual, and relatively decent performance basically...Sorry to semi-hijack this but if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to let me know!
