H4 headlight upgrade question
I just installed the H4 lighting upgrade from Performance Products and I have 2 questions:
- The adjustment screws on both trim rings are at about 2 and 7 o'clock positions. I guess I expected them to be mirror image for aesthetic reasons. Is that correct, or did they send me two right/left assemblies?
- There is a small mistery bulb inside the bucket just beneath the main bulb. It has a separate prong on the back but it does not get hooked up into the wiring harness. What is it?

LOL,...You have the correct headlight assemblies.
That small bulb is called a "City Light" and was made for certain cities where using your headlights at night in downtown areas is illegal (Paris). Those can get hooked up to your parking lights.

So there is no right/left assembly and the adjustment holes are identical? I guess I can see the savings of just producing one unit, yet it somehow disturbs my German design aesthetic

You are correct. One assembly fits both sides. To get the lights to work, just splice into the parking lights. You can use them during the early morning or dusk for a while instead of headlights.

Well forget the German design aesthetic and go with the German design efficiency - all you need is one. Porsche doesn't need to inventory, stock or order two separate items. You don't need to worry about finding a replacement one when your supplier is out of left side ones or right side ones. They all fit both sides. Seems very teutonic to me.
