Post Emblem advice

I would like to remove the Carrera emblem from my deck lid and affix a 911 SC emblem, which I recently purchased from the local Porsche dealer. What's the best way to remove these emblems without doing harm to the paint and what glue is best to re-attach them?? My car is a 1980 SC Coupe and I just swapped my spoiler for a plain deck lid.
TIA for any advice.

I just removed my Carrera emblem from my 1986 911 about two weeks ago. I just gave it the kung-fu grip and pulled it off with my hands. Once removed I used 3M adhesive remover to clean the lid. When I purchased the new Carrera emblem it came with two sided tape already attached.

It is easier if you put a blow dryer to it and then use dental floss to get under it and "saw" across the letters. They will come right off and then use some alcohol to clean it up.

Dental Floss! That's a new one for me, never heard of using it like that, but it sounds like it would work great. I think I'll put a roll in my tool box - right next to the mondo roll of Duct Tape!

I also used the blow drier/dental floss method, and it worked like a charm. I used a little WD-40 to remove the residue. Before I applied the new number, I could barely tell where the old number was.

I think Tom was the one who advised me to use dental floss as well.

Here's an emblem? for ya!
I have a 911 sc emblem on my '77s. I want to put a carerra emblem on it, which is already on my decklid without a tail. So, I'd like to remove both emblems and attach the carrera emblem to my lid w/ a factory all rubber tail. But, the sc emblem is held on with speed nuts and the carrera emblem has the sticky adhesive on the back. With this cover up my holes? Can I remount my carrera emblem with new adhesive? What can I say, my car is neither an sc or carrera. But per the advice of my buddy Mike, the carrera term is a wide meaning thing and would suit it better than the sc emblem! What do you guys think?
Best,
Pete

Actually, I think it's Spanish for "nice butt".
