New Porsche owner here
Just picked up a 1987 911 Carrera Coupe last night.
Formerly belonged to my in-laws who have owned it since 1990. It was a garage queen for them and will be one with us. I have a '90 BMW 325is as a daily driver/track car. The in-laws have wanted us to buy it for several years and they just made us an offer we could not refuse.
Anyway, a few questions for the board.
1. Who do you guys recomend for parts suppliers? Need to get some oil filters and drain plug washers, and a replacement strutsupport for the front boot.
2. Anybody have any links or copies of literature about the '87 Carrera from when it came out? Articles from magazines, performance information, etc.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to Rennlist. Great car - you got the best year!
As above, Pelicanparts is a supplier to many & the others that were mentioned. For original sales brochures see evilBay & search. As for reviews, the early Carrera was reviewed by R &T also Car & Driver but I've haven't seen anything on the G50 Carreras other than a 328 to 911 Cab comparison. PM me your email & I'll send them (jpgs) if you want.

Hey Sabatini, congrats on the new baby!
Since your car has been a garage queen for most of it's life, you're not likely to have any major problems. You should be aware that there is and has been an issue with the quality of the valve guides. They tend to wear out at or near 100K miles, so be aware.
Hope that you have many happy miles with that beauty.
