Question MFI fuel pump question

Hi everyone -

I need help in identifying the ports on my MFI fuel pump (not the injection pump). There are three ports on the top, one larger and two smaller. The larger one is clearly the "in" port from the tank. The question is the smaller ones: which is the return to the tank and which is the delivery to the fuel filter/injector pump? I assume they are different, the tank return must have some kind of limiting valve or something.

The pump is a rebuilt Bosch unit, used with a '72 MFI 2.4 motor. Thanks for your help!

The middle hose nipple pressurizes the fuel filter, the outboard nipple is the tank return.
