Damn it! One more thing to add to my winter project list. That looks great.

The one thing I didn't do was take a good before picture to give you guys an idea. Maybe my fan was worse being in Canada.

I also found links for a couple of places that will electroplate it for you for a couple of hundred dollars. Choices of magnesium electroplate include nickel, copper, tin, chrome, gold and silver. Any of those surfaces would take a clear coat nicely. After seeing your fan, I starting to wonder if it would be too gaudy to have my fan nickel plated and the shroud copper plated.

I'd really like to clean up my fan but I'm a bit unsure of how to get it off. Is it an easy job & do I have to look out for any potential pitfalls?

Thanks

Right on Storm

Really easy but you have to take your time. I just started taking bits off mine as it is pretty straight forward. The fun starts in getting the air guide back on ...
but a good project if your going to park your car for alittle while. I used the opportunity to freshen up the alternator with new bearings and a lathe job on the commutator.
