Question Whats involved in lowering to Euro Specs & $$??

Tryin to figure out how much I should budget to have my 87' 911 coupe lowered to euro specs? Anyone incurred this cost or could anticipate the cost??

Also, any advice/feedback on a good adj shock for road/track use would be greatly appreciated? Should I swap out the t-bars as well? Stock shocks are shot!! Lots of hop!!

Recently had my 930 lowered w/new torsion bars and total cost was around $1500, which included parts (~$600) and labor (install, corner balance, alignment). Hope this helps.

Is it possible to keep the stock torsion bars and replace the shocks to make it more stiff?

If you're doing some track events, you will probably want to beef up the torsion bars a wee bit. I drive my almost daily in the summer and do 5-7 days of DEs. I upgraded to 22/28 torsion bars, kept the factory sways and put Bilstein HDs on the front and Sports on the back, had the car lowered and of course aligned and corner balanced.
Car still drives on the street nicely and much better at the track.
Good luck deciding, there are many options.

If I beef up the torsion bars, I am assuming I will need to replace the shocks?

CurBrwn,
First advice that I can offer is stay away from the Porsche dealer for this work. First of all, most don't know these cars. 2 Porsche dealers screwed up my height alignment so bad that the last porsche dealer said he couldn't align the car, but BTW, the cost is "$300 for us trying". Arghhh#$$^%$%$@! I replaced/ upgraded the T-bars, sway bars, bushings, etc myself. Then had adjustable spring plates and an alignment done at a good shop. Only unfortuante part is that they didn't have the equipment to corner balance which is very important. Make sure the shop you choose can do this. For shocks, you can go with a sport shock, if you don't already have them. Suggest you buy Wayne Dempsey's 101 Projects for your Porsche.
regards,
Steve
