Post WTK- best aftermarket shifter

I have an 86 carerra and find the shifter to be nearly insufferable. Short of swapping in a G50 box, what can be done to improve the shift feel, and the synchro speeds.

Im interested in reccomendations related to Wevo, Seine or comparable units that will better define gear gates.

Reccomendations and experiences please.

I've got a Seine Systems gate kit, but that won't really improve your shifting. It does give a lot of confidence (no chance of getting the wrong gear) and it tightens up the gate nicely, but if you're having trouble getting into gears then it won't help. I did the Swepco 201 gear oil change, and found an improvement to my shifting, but my gearbox is much noisier now. Almost wish I hadn't done it.
G50 box swap would be a nightmare.

The Seine shifter is added to your shifter. It does not replace the shifter. Well worth the cost and easily installed in an hour or two. To get the most out of you 915 shifter replace all the bushings, make sure the coupler is proper adjusted and the trans/engine mounts are in good shape.
I have the Seine gate shifter on a Weltmeister short shifter, Stomski apex shift coupler, solid engine mounts, sport trans mounts, replaced all bushings and run sweepco. It does not shift like a toyota, and never will, but it shifts very nice

Take a look at this post on the Pelican board: <a href="http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=b6061c669e09fef05561849e2f360673&threadid=110533" target="_blank">Rennshift</a>. It seems like an impressive product at a reasonable price.

Also, be sure to replace the bushings in the coupler, on the end of the shift rod, and in the tunnel. I added the factory short shift kit to my 84, and it shifts much better (though it will never be great).
