Default Targa Top Removal?

I don't own a Targa yet but have a quick Q: is there some kind of tool that you use to remove the Targa Top from a '78 ? or does it just have some sort of latches you unhook??

Thanks

Rob

i think it is the same as my 73.... turn handles, no special tools needed like the Corvette.

you can have the handle, or the later special wrench you lock in the glove box or trunk to prevent ******** from smashing your glass and stealing a very expensive top

on mine you pull on the levers and they come out, allowing you to lock them away ( 78 ) . I imagine it could be a safety issue in case of an acident, but the anti theft is a bigger motivator for me .. those tops are impossible to find and darned expensive to recover.. and not to mention re- cover

Good idea. I almost always leave them in but i guess it's a good idea to pull them out. I never really thought about the top being a target but as difficult as they are to find and as expensive as they are it makes sense.
