18" wheels/tires on a 911 chassis?
Just did a bunch of searches and came up empty.....has anyone (else) attempted to use 18" on their 911? Somebody in the group told me it was a real chore and perhaps could not be done. Well, in returning my 930 back to factory stock i wound up with this too good to sell set of aftermarket wheels and tires....so i tried them on my 77 RS clone.... wow-mom-wow! no rubbing at all at speed and ultra hard cornering......did i get lucky?
225/40-18 F, 275/35-18 R .....i have about 2 neg camber in the front and about 2.5 neg in the rear.....H&R coilovers.

Ona 911 w/ SC/Carrera flares the isssue us not 16 vs 17 vs 18 so much as it is a question of max. tire dimensions
W/ the right wheel o/s the SC/Carrera can take a max of ~10x25.7" this would be 275/40x17 or 275/35x18
A matching front would be 235/45x17 or 235/40x18
930s can take considerable wider wheelsand tires but the height still should be kept at or below ~25.7"
here is mine w/ 235/275 in 17

The extra ~10#/wheel(Fuchs 7/9, 205/245 to Kinesis 8/9.5, 235/275) will not be felt.
But the extra ~.2 -.3" radius will have a very noticable effect on low speed acceleration. At speed, das macht nichts
