That looks VERY reasonable to me, given the parts list. I've no idea what their labor rates are.

If you have to buy valves and P/C's, the price will certainly go up,....

Jaws:

Labor rates vary all over the country and thats the biggest factor in a top-end rebuild.

I'd budget in the $4.5-$6K range for parts, labor, & machine work.

Concur.

And even at 2:1 dollars to pounds, those prices are in range. Towards the high end, but still in range.

Actually using a current conversion, the price comes in at about $5,100 USD, about right in the middle.

Good luck!

Don't see pistons or Rod small end bushings, etc.

It is not a full rebuilt at that, but a darn good start.

Here in NZ, it cost me just on NZD$10,000 for a full top end refresh (re-used original p&c) and new clutch (G50).
This equals appx US$7,000.00.
Labour rate was $60.00 per hour with appx 60 hours....

Are NZ hours shorter than the rest of the world???? 60 hours for a top end rebuild............your engine, trans, engine bay better come back spotless for that......................The last motor I did was a 930 complete, with all the mods, detailing the engine comp. and all the hardware, and I charged 65 hours.

fixnprsh, yes the engine and tranny was smick after the rebuild but engine bay was left untouched.

The guys did say the clutch took longer than it should have due to a stuck bearing, I think it was......
