Brandon:

Yessir, that was indeed a factory color in '74-'75 and as Adrian pointed out; thats
Mexico Blue.

I've only seen Porsche's Gulf Blue on '73 & '74 cars as well as on several 917K's, but never parked next to each other.

Gulf blue was special order colour code 328 for model years 73, 74 and 75.
However I do not believe this is Gulf blue because it is too bright.
I believe this is Mexico blue, colour code 336 which was available for the 911RS in model year 1973 and became a standard colour for model years 1974 and 1975 only.
The J.W.A. - Gulf team colours is quite a complicated story with someinteresting twists. However, the Porsche shade of Gulf powder blue is not the same as the colour used on the Ford GTs and J.W.A. Mirage M1/M2 and M3s.
Porsche (due to legal reasons) stopped offering their version/shade of Gulf Blue after model year 1975.
Ciao,
Adrian.

It's Mexico blue in my opinion as well...very close to Riviera blue (Porsche 993 1995 YM color)

I though it was Riviera Blue/Mexico blue. I knew it was on later cars(993 MY95) but on the early cars that actually looks really good, if only I could afford another Porsche!

I heard this car has switched between several flippers, and isn't as nice as it looks in the photos.

i cant tell from the pics to be sure, but the color looks very much like riveria blue which is a 993 (1995/96) color. I think mexico blue is more light (white?) and this blue is more like jellybean blue.
Makes sense as he says the car was repainted, so perhaps it was repainted in the past 10 years.

In the colour chart below Gulf blue is on the left and Mexico blue is in the middle. The image distorts the shades a little bit as well. I cannot load up the full res version cause it is too big.
Ciao,
Adrian.

At the risk of getting off the desired track... what are the colors across the bottom? I'm searching for a color to repaint my '71 and I'm looking for a grey-ish color to go to. It was originally a metallic aqua (name escapes me at the moment) and has since been 3 other colors. It needs to be stripped and redone (couple of bubbles starting to emerge) and I intend to keep it factory but not convinced the original color is the way to go...

If you'd rather PM or email me to keep this thread cleaner that's fine. Much thanks!!
