Default targa to cabriolet

my friend has 83 targa and wants to know what is unvolved to convert it to cabrio. i tried search, but no luck. thanks for any help

Default It can be done.

There are a few websites on this. It can be done. I have one. 74targa that was coverted to wideboby with a 95 cabrio top.

The person you want to talk to is a man named Thom Fitzpatrick (I believe).
I think his website is www.rennlight.com
He has performed this conversion a couple of times and I believe is working on or has finished a targa to coupe conversion.

I could be wrong, but I would imagine that it is cheaper in the long run to sell the Targa and buy a cabrio....I for one wouldn't buy a car that had been converted by an outside source. If your friend plans on driving the car forever, it might make sense, but in the long run I would think you would lose 15-20% of the resale value doing an aftermarket conversion....

I agree. Want a cab? Sell the Targa and buy a cab. Don't butcher the Targa.
