1971 911T-How do you like it?
I've noticed a few members have this vehicle. In my search for my first Porsche, I've run across a very clean Targa. This is not what I was looking for, but it caught my eye. I'm concerned about the fun factor of the lower horsepower in the "T" models. This is absolutely going to be a car for weekend fun, as my wife and I have other vehicles. Any input would be appreciated.

Personally, I think the older ones have a style of their own.
While thye do lack in power, you will find that the lack of power is also reflected in a lighter weight that will allow you to pass the "big boys" in the corners. Of cousre you can always put a newer engine in the car to get the best of both worlds. (see Jack Olsen's car for example)

A friend of mine had an SC targa and I know he had some issues with the top leaking. Every Targa I looked at needed new seals, and they are not cheap. From what I have read the top can be/needs to be, adjusted to stop it from leaking.
One big plus to a targa is the additional headroom. I can barely fit in my SC with a helmet, but a targa is no problem. Plus, driving in the fall with the heat on full blast and the top off is sure fun!
