Smile Pressure Plate and Flywheel Options

My 1980 911SC is due a new clutch. I'm also having some work done on the tranny synchro's, etc. I was wondering about the advisability of putting in aluminum pressure plate and flywheel?

If you've done this I'd like to hear your experience and recommendations?

I'd sworn I never pull another engine, but these P-cars have a way of enticing you to tinker....

Hi:

IMHO, its a no-brainer to install the aluminum pressure plate on these cars. You will like that.

The decision about the aluminum flywheel is not as black and white. This item really helps the motor to rev quickly and make it easier for the tranny synros to match gearset speeds, but it takes a litle more driver skill to get the car rolling from rest and a few people never seem to make the adjustment.

There are no stalling issues, its simply a matter of a little more foot coordination to get the car going, especially on a hill.

I've had one in my own car since 1978 and I love it.
