3.6 air cooled fit into a '77 911s?
Will a '92 3.6 motor (air cooled of course) and matching tranmission bolt into my '77 911s without any frame or body alterations?
The only 3.6 pre '78 911 cars I've seen look like they've had extensive wide body alterations, etc.

No body alteration is needed to put a 3.6 in any 911.
It will bolt to your transaxle, but the transaxle housing needs to be notched for a DME sensor. The engine sheet metal and rear engine support need to be modified. You can learn more with the 3.6 FAQ at www.instant-g.com.

Don't forget to make sure you have dual front oil coolers, a proper suspension, and brakes to match the accelerative potential of such combinations,.....
We've done quite a few of these conversions since 1990.

Thanks for such great info! I may have to blow up my 2.7 to justify the expense of a 3.6 to my wife. Then again, the more often I watch "The Man Show" the easier it seems to rationalize faking a catastrophic engine failure... Hmmm...
Will the G50 bolt up okay or will I have to weld in new supports?
