Is it a 2.7RS MFI motor or a 2.7 CIS motor?

Description on ebay says:
"You are bidding on a rare 1973 Porsche 911 s Targa 2.7 Less than 300 of these were made!...."
I have no idea of such 2.7S in 1973....and if so, what type 2.7 this was.
Special US- model ?

I would also add that it has non-'73 front turnsignals (chrome where it should be black), non-'73 front bumper protectors (chrome where they should be the bigger all black rubber ones to match the rears - oh, and see my picture to the left), and it does not have the S front spoiler (again see my picture). Maybe it had a front end collision and they replaced it with the wrong stuff. The wheels appear to be the wrong ones. Also, the "911S" on the rear deck does not match the "PORSCHE" lettering. That said, they were stock black and with time have faded to a silvery gray color. So, it could be that someone repainted the letters but not the model.

A few years ago, I was talking with a cousin who had a few 911's when he was younger and didn't have kids. He had a '72 or '73 that was bought new and for racing purposes, yanked the 2.4 and installed a 2.7 in 1977 in that car. He stated that was common place back then to just pull the smaller motor and replace with the current larger motor. Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but I would have no reason to doubt him on what he did on his 911 back then.
Could this type of situation have happened to this car? It's 32 years old and a lot can happen in 32 years... Plus, cars were much more simple back then...
I'd be wary of this car, or the owner or both. Wouldn't discourage me, but I'd definitely be doing my homework.

Well, if someone took a 2.4S and replaced it with the 2.7S motor from the 74-77 cars, they'd be LOSING a bunch of power, not gaining it. Unusual to put a real 2.7RS motor in a car like that (especially hard to believe the factory did this). Could be a customer-built hotrod though - just am suspicious of the claims that it was a limited edition factory optionl...
