Had a PPI done and it passed with flying colors - leakdown results one at 3%, the rest all 1 & 2%. Mechanic said it was in the "top 5%" of all the cars he works on - says owner is excellent.
In So Cal, I'd say $12,000. The prices of SC and Carreras continues to steadily drop. Targas are generally worth less than Coupes. And this isn't exactly a super low mileage example.
Like Sandy, I'd be inclined to say $12K max. But . . . any 150K car you buy will need a lot of the stuff that has recently been done - clutch, rotors, Targa top, wires etc. Then it also has Carrera cooler, H4s etc. Total all of that work up & add it to $12K & you're pretty close to $15K . . .
A lot of us buy cars because they are great value (such a deal) & then have to spend a year or two & lots of $$$ to get it right. This one sounds like it might be there already.
The normal ebb & flow of the market. First of all, it's the fall & winter is coming. Always a 'low' in sports car pricing as the Northern guys are faced with a store or sell decision.
And, they are not rare cars, with many always for sale & there is the continuing price pressure from newer models which are also devaluing i.e. 964, 993, 996.
And of course, gas prices spiked & that had people stalling on many vehicle purchases, although that is much less of a factor with older cars.
