Help with Color Code on '83 SC
Hi All:
Can anyone help ID the color code of the car below?
Tag on left side of trunk compartment lists the following:
ABE NR B782
None of my books has any of these codes listed. Again, it's a 1983 model year 911SC, Euro model. The interior is burgundy as well.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Your sticker codes aren't the right ones. But your color looks like L810 - Ruby Red Metallic Clearcoat. See Paint Scratch

Thanks Ian. I too assumed it was Ruby Red Metallic, but the B782 code in the trunk is confusing. Can't find that code on paint scratch or in any of my books.
The car has been repainted and the door jams, trunk lid, engine lid, etc. that have not been repainted match the new paint quite well, so I'm assuming this car has not had a color change repaint.
Regards,
Jay

I should have figured you knew about Paintscratch. Here are the 'euro' paint codes that somebody has posted. Here
But they're still not close. Post a picture of your option sticker.
Mine also has a couple of different colors from repainting panels. My doors are a very faint greenish white from a bad match. No accidents, just cosmetic pick-me-ups. I guess the PO wanted it nice.

It looks to match my 84 Ruby Metallic Carerra. BTW, I've been told this color was only available for 2 years.
I'll take a look at my paint codes and see what they offer for comparison.

Ian:
I will post a pic later today of the metal label in the trunk (the standard ID tag on 911's). The option code paper based stickers/labels that are typically found on the underside of the front lid and in the owner's manual are long gone. Maybe we all can see something that I'm overlooking. www.paintscratch.com is great for a quick on line check of colors. This car was painted for cosmetic reasons only (from what the inspections revealed and from the prior owner's comments).
Dan, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I too have heard that Ruby Red Metallic was an '83 and '84 only color. IMO, it's a great color.
Thanks all,
Jay

Here is the color sticker from my 87 - left side of trunk:
Here is the option sticker - underside of trunk lid:
As you can see, neither sticker is anything like yours but than it is an 87 & a US car.

Ian,
Thanks for the pics and info. The later cars had better labeling. Since this car has an unknown import history (and is older), it's hard to tell what's going on with this ID tag in the trunk...
Dug, thanks for the pic for comparison. Great looking car!

I'll take a picture of my ID plate & post it for you tomorrow Jay.
As my car is an 83 and originally supplied in Germany (lived there until 99) it may help you.

Jay,
Here's my id tag. As you can see there's a sticker next to the
tag with Rubin Rot Metallic and the 810 code.
As my car was supplied to the German market the colour name is in German of course.
