Default Silicon on top of injector O-rings?

Has anyone ever put some high temp silicon sealer around the top of the fuel injector O-rings when changing them?

When I replaced mine, I used some silicone grease on the o-ring seals, which is very different than silicone sealer.

Yah, I did that too. I'm just not sure if everything is sealed up real good after changing the plastic injector sleeves and the O-rings on the injectors themselves.
I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild and haven't put the CIS system back on yet.

No sealant is needed on gaskets, seals & o-rings after the cylinder heads and cam towers are joined. White lithium grease is a good product to aid with assembly for o-rings, such as injectors and injector sleeves. Most contemporary gaskets (chain box, intake, exhaust) are made to be put on dry. O-rings (oil return tube, injector/sleeve, Carrera tensioner, camshaft) can benefit from a thin coat of grease. Oil seals (crank at flywheel, etc.) will benefit from a little grease around their perimeter, to help with installation, and a thin layer on their sealing lip, to protect them on initial start-up.

Do NOT put silicone sealer on o-rings. It can make them leak. O-rings are supposed to move with expasion and contraction of metal parts. A sealer will not allow this. Dow corning makes a silicone O-ring paste called 111 which is perfect for this. You can also use a silicone grease. Also, don't soak them in gasoline as Volkswagen suggests.Use the DC-111 or silicone grease, but NOT silicone sealer. good luck
