Default Using JE pistons for street and track engines

Greetings,

I am interested in any personal experience that you might have using JE Pistons in street/track cars. I am contemplating updating my leaky 3.6 964 engine (in my '87 911) with some 102mm cylinders and JE 11-1 pistons, with a suitable cam upgrade as well. I did use JE pistons in a race engine that I had built in the early 90's, but it did not last long enough to form an opinon on durability.

So how about? Any voices of experience?

Chris

Chris:

I consider JE's to be very fine racing pistons due to their light weight, flexibility in configurations, and reasonable cost that allows frequent replacement.

Mahle's are the ONLY pistons I'll use in a street engine where the customer expects the engine to last as long (or longer) than the original.

Without question here, you get what you pay for.
