pulling one of these ***** off is not as simple as you might think . if your not careful it is very easy to break or crack the plastic . the best way I have seen it done is to get a 2x4 about 12 to 16 inchs long cut a hole smaller then the **** head then cut out a section large enough to slip it under the **** . when we did it to mine we removed the shifter from the car and put it in a vice . you wack the 2x4 from under the **** and it should pop off . inside the **** you will find a metal band I think they call this a crush strip . if this is the factory shift **** be very careful as these are not avalable new and I have seen clean used ones sell for over one hunderd dollars . I'm not trying to scare you but they only made that 915 **** with the acrilic top from 72-74 after that they were just all black ,
good luck, sam

My local dealer (in New Zealand) shows the 72-74 **** as available ex-Germany.
Of course, it was over US$100 anwyay.
Secondly, last time I checked, Tweeks had a repro for around $75. This is also too rich for me!!
Hope this helps.

I think you will find that because its a 915 pattern they kept the old number but when you order it they superseed to the newer style **** . but if for some reason they do have any of the old style ***** I would love to get one . as for tweeks I ordered one each of their 901 and 915 ***** over a year ago I waited and waited I called and called after about 9 mo. they said they could no longer get them . I have picked up some ***** on e-bay . the last one I got has a different texture and is made from different matrial I think this is one of the tweeks ***** but the guy I bought it from could not confirm . anyway in the newest tweeks catalog they no longer list those ***** .
