Don't forget that a little play on the distributor shaft will screw up your points gap, but be fine for installing pertronics. It is always a good idea to wiggle the shaft when replacing points. Also a tiny amount of grease on the rubbing block will keep it from rubbing away and wearing the gap to zero.
