Default What heads for Performance Build???

I have a set of 71' heads and want to know if these are better/worse/same as any other early stud pattern head. I am going to put large vales and port them which is the question. I know all the stock valve and pot sizes for the early year heads but what I don't know is which ones lend themselves to oversize vlaves and porting better than others.

Second question is what these heads can take for valves and port sizes? I am building up a 2.2T to a 2.5 Big bore motor with 10:1, headers, carbs, etc... that I plan to rev and need the air for.

Your 2.2 T heads/valves are perfect for the engine that you want to build. Porting is possible but 46/40mm valves are pretty much what you're going to have. What's crucial is the valve spring tension for the type of cams (S, 906, Sprint) that you choose, as well as CCing the combustion chambers, deck height and valve to piston clearance. Porting is a matter of preference/experience and is usually dictated by the rest of the final package.
