Hi everyone.
I'm new to the forum.
Drive an 86 911 and I'm always looking (or offering) advice.

Welcome to Rennlist, Rod.

You stumped me. I thought I knew where almost everyplace in Ontario was. But Seagrave . . . I had to look up. I was through Port Perry in my Porsche heading to the Kawarthas on the weekend.

Enjoy . . .

There is a couple who watch the forums here. More 993/996 guys in their respective forums. For older cars, a bunch of guys hang out on the Pelican Parts forum. We have done some fun runs in Southwestern Ontario this summer & that was a blast even though everybody knows that all the roads are straight & flat in SW Ontario - hahaha.

see SW Ontario Run in July

There's talk of an possible Oktoberfest gathering in Kitchener at the end of that thread.

That's great Ian. I guess I should log on there as well.
I see you "tweek your car" a bit.
Just put in Turbo Tie rods and new bearings. Now I'm tackling the rear with Monoball bearings and new drive shaft bearings. I've been resurching the alignment. My biggest concern is that my floor is not perfectly flat and I don't have scales for corner balancing.

Yes, my car requires that I bleed regularily on its behalf.

For alignment, get the Scruggs booklet. It will give you confidence to do it. A level garage is not necessary, just 4 level 'pads' that the tires can sit on that you can easily setup. I used wood/plywood/panelling pads for 3 of the 4 points. I could just position them & drive the car onto them & know it was level every time. Use a line level or a water level (long clear tube + water) to figure the pad heights.

3 weeks ago, I finally finished the alignment - front toe was the last thing I did. The car just fell into place. Immediate improvement. It tracks dead straight with no shimmey at any speed. It goes just where I point it. Wow! I'll get around to CB sooner or later using the 'Tripod Method' but I would doubt that I'm off by much. It feels THAT good.

A warning about Pelican. It is a fast forum & they can be rough over there at times. And they will have you constantly dreaming of more ways to spend your money.
