Picked-up a 1986 930 Slant-Nose
....for the unbelieveable price of FREE! The 76-year-old owner was cleaning his garage for a sale, when I asked how much. He looked at his wife, shrugged, and said, "just tow it away, please".
But this original all-steel slantnose hardtop with sunroof delete, still needs a 3.3L Turbo engine. I love it. The body is straight, and needs a ton of interior, electrical parts. Chime in on whatever advice you can!

1986 951 - India Red(Interior needed)
1986 930 - Guards Red(Parts needed)
1986 Audi Sport Quattro (Needs tons of parts)
2001 BMW X5 4.4i(needs nothing)

Wow, unreal! Congrats on your very good fortune!
One option to sourcing a turbo engine is dropping in a 3.6 (with, or w/o varioram ...your choice). Quite a few folks have done this swap in lieu of rebuilding, but if you're alredy short an engine, this may be your ticket to the good HP and immediate torque of the NA 3.6's. Of course, you could also just drop in a built-up 3.x engine, but that's probably going to run similar dollars to a 3.6 so I'd personally go for the higher displacement. Then lighten the car of dead weight and bring the suspension up to par and you'll have a screamer! Post pics as you go ...sounds like loads of fun in your future

Holy Crap Batman!
This "FREE" car will soon start costing plenty. Just be very glad that the initial investment was NADA!
For now, I am happy for you, but not quite as jealous as you might think knowing how much work is ahead of you.
I'll be VERY jealous once it is finished!

sounds like he bought it as a theft recovery a long time ago and realized how much it would cost to put it back together so it sat. The title has probably dropped out of the DMV records, so once your done, you'll have a super nice slant nose...................IF its a real one, post up the VIN and I'll tell you and some pics a dead give away is the rocker panels, I think EVERY kitted one has no jack hole in the rocker and RX7 headlights.
