964/993 interior fit a carrera 1 ????
I'm considering to replace my interior ('85 carrera cabriolet) with a 964 or 993 one. Will it fit ??? Is the cabrio interior different from a coupe ?

Hi,
I have investigated the same thing: the 964 panels will fit straight in, the only difference being the rear seats which have some pins to drop them down. The only problem with the 964 carpet is the the transmission tunnel as this is a different shape.
The 993 interior is even harder: the rear pannels should fit, but the fron ones need to be modified.
In my 930 I have decided to have all new carpets, Iam am carpetting the rear like the 964RS and I am getting new, lightweight seats for the front.

The coupe and cabs are different. Your '85 has a manual top, the rear quarter covers are different from the electic power tops on later years, also the coupes have leather quarter covers. The 964 & 993 have a center consule so the center carpet is different. The 964 door panels will fit alot easier than the 993's. The 993's will fit but you have to modify the interior lock mechanism, and provide for a added bolt (provide a nut for backing) Whether you choose the 964 or 993 you will have to do a mix and match which does work great, especially if you have a black interior. Also you will need to keep your upper door caps because of the mirror switches and door lock arrangements.
